REPORT FROM CAP'N JOHN
G'day Alan
RINK 1 G Roberts, J Proffitt, -----, R Barclay winners 24-19 (19-19 after 25% deduction)
RINK 2 W Wilcox, M Simmonds, R Driscoll, J Fairs lost 18-27
RINK 3 D Feest, J Peters, R Bland, W Burrows lost 16-22
RINK 4 K Tester, P Otto. P Thorpe, R Bancroft winners 17-12
RINK 5 B Shakespeare, G Sheldon, D Ridley. T Hood Winners 22-15
MATCH SCORE Before Deductions 97-95 (THIS IS THE SCORE WE WILL REMEMBER) After deductions 92-95 (FORGOTTEN ALREADY)
RINK 2 As you will see Priory won the game overall but rink 1 had to lose 25%. The score was 97 for Priory to 95 for Goring. I am taking the game as a moral victory for a patched together bunch of guys, of which 5 do not play indoor, 1 was given to us! We played without any big guns and still managed to come out on top. Could you please relay to the boys who do not play normally Peter Otto, Peter Thorpe, Roy Bland, Mark Simmonds, Butch Shakespeare, my appreciated thanks for their efforts. Wally and Bill for playing to help us out at the final hour. But to the whole team for the way they rallied to get us over the line when at one stage we looked like we were on for a thrashing. But the Priory spirit came through. As one player for the opposition said to me the thing he admired most about Priory was their determination to always win they don't know when they are beaten.
Well done lads
Great effort all round.
Thank you. Prof.
